CONFLICT MINERALS

Position Statement On Conflict Minerals

Abbott is committed to a supply chain that contributes to sustainable development and responsible sourcing.

Abbott complies with applicable laws wherever it operates, including the provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act that require companies to begin reporting on the use of conflict minerals as part of their annual disclosure to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Conflict minerals include tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold (also known as 3TGs).

Abbott is conducting due diligence to understand the use and source of 3TGs in our products across our complex global supply chain. Following guidelines developed by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), we are identifying products and suppliers in scope, and sending questionnaires to key suppliers, utilizing the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) developed by the Conflict Free Sourcing Initiative. We also have developed standardized contract language that will require Abbott's suppliers to disclose the presence and source of conflict minerals in their supply chains.

Abbott is committed to having business relationships with suppliers who share the company's dedication to conducting business in a legal and ethical manner. As we move forward, Abbott will maintain processes designed to ensure that our suppliers comply with our policies, as well as all applicable laws and regulations. This process includes querying select suppliers on an annual basis, and taking further actions as necessary to identify 3TGs in our supply chain.

Abbott has filed a Form SD and Conflict Minerals Report with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for the year ended December 31, 2021.
